Q. Does acoustic treatment automatically mean sound proofing?

A. No. Sound proofing or sound insulation requires the prevention of sound traveling from a noisy area into another noise sensitive area. However, acoustic treatment could also involve the control of sound characteristics within the same area. The elimination of echoes and control of reverberation time within a space are examples of such acoustic treatment.
