Q. Why do I feel partially deaf after listening to prolonged loud music?

A. This partial deafness is a form of noise induced hearing loss. Exposure to loud sounds causes our ear to be over-stimulated and exhausted resulting in a temporary shift of our hearing threshold. Continuous exposure to excessively loud sounds can cause the shift in hearing threshold to be permanent thereby resulting in permanent hearing loss.
